Izan Guevara topped the second free practice session of the Moto2 class at Silverstone on Saturday morning with a 2'02.221. The BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 rider edged out Alonso Lopez and Barry Baltus, while Collin Veijer had to settle for 12th.
The session, held under unpredictable British weather, saw Manuel Gonzalez leading at mid-session. The championship leader looked comfortable on his Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP machine, followed by Guevara, Ivan Ortola, Senna Agius, and Deniz Oncu.
In the closing stages, Alonso Lopez briefly took over the top spot with five minutes remaining. The ITALJET Gresini Moto2 rider seemed set to finish the session on top, but Guevara struck in the final minutes with his best lap. The margin was just 0.062 seconds over Lopez, while Barry Baltus was a close third, 0.065 seconds behind.

Manuel Gonzalez had to settle for fourth with 2'02.333, ahead of Daniel Holgado in fifth. The session also saw Mario Aji crash at Turn 16 with nine minutes left, ending his session prematurely.
For the Dutch riders, Collin Veijer was the fastest with a 2'02.827, placing him 12th, 0.606 seconds off the pace. Zonta van den Goorbergh finished 24th with a 2'03.583, 1.362 seconds behind. Spanish dominance was evident, with eight of the top ten positions occupied by Spanish riders.
This result sets up an intriguing qualifying session. Guevara has shown consistent performance and is ready to challenge for pole, while Lopez and Baltus also have promising speed.
