Lewis Hamilton let his frustration boil over during the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, questioning Ferrari's decision to leave him out on old hard tyres for a marathon 30-lap stint. The seven-time world champion openly challenged the team's strategy, calling himself a 'guinea pig' in a heated radio exchange.
Hamilton, who started from pole, briefly led the race before being overtaken by Lando Norris and Kimi Antonelli, both on much fresher rubber. The moment triggered a furious response from Lewis Hamilton, who demanded an explanation from the Ferrari pit wall.
“Are you using me as a guinea pig or what?!” Hamilton shouted, as quoted by FormulaPassion. “What's going on? How long do you want me to stay out?”

The strategy appeared to backfire, leaving Hamilton vulnerable and losing positions. However, a late Virtual Safety Car triggered by Esteban Ocon's retirement provided a lifeline, allowing Ferrari to pit Hamilton without dropping significantly down the order.
After the stop, Hamilton rejoined on fresh soft tyres, but the episode highlighted ongoing communication issues between the driver and Ferrari's strategists. This season, several questionable strategy calls have already drawn criticism, and Zandvoort added another chapter to that narrative.
With the race result still to be confirmed, Hamilton is expected to review the strategy in internal briefings. The question remains whether Ferrari can avoid repeating the same mistakes in upcoming races.
