Lewis Hamilton vented his frustration at the Ferrari pit wall after feeling the team failed to capitalize on a crucial moment during the Dutch Grand Prix. Racing at Zandvoort, the British driver attempted a one-stop strategy to break into the podium positions, but team decisions cost him valuable time.
Hamilton, who started from sixth, impressed by managing his soft tires early on and showing competitive pace when switching to hards. He caught up to teammate Charles Leclerc and George Russell of Mercedes.
Tension peaked on lap 41 when Russell made his second pit stop. Leclerc, ahead of Hamilton, was not told to let him through despite Hamilton being clearly faster. Two precious laps were wasted, prompting Hamilton to complain over team radio.
“I’m faster than Charles and I have better tires, let me pass,” Hamilton said in frustration. “We’re losing time!” he added while still stuck behind the number 16 car. After Leclerc finally pitted, Hamilton fired a sarcastic remark: “Great way to lose time guys, great job.”
Nevertheless, Hamilton's race was not over. He led until lap 53 before being overtaken by Lando Norris and Kimi Antonelli. He is now battling George Russell for third place.
This incident adds to a growing list of tensions between Hamilton and the Ferrari pit wall in his first season with the Italian team. The strategic decisions made by the team will be under scrutiny ahead of the next round.
