Former Haas Formula 1 team principal Guenther Steiner has openly criticized the aggressive maneuver made by Lando Norris following his controversial collision with McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri during the Singapore Grand Prix sprint race.
The high-drama incident took place on the very last lap of the sprint event. While running in fourth and fifth positions, Norris went for a daring move down the inside of his team-mate, which ultimately ended up clipping Piastri's car and sending both drivers spinning off their racing lines.

As a direct consequence of the crash, Piastri was forced out of the race with a DNF. Meanwhile, Norris managed to keep his car going, salvaging a solitary championship point after crossing the finish line in an underwhelming eighth place.
Speaking as a guest on The Red Flags Podcast, Steiner did not hold back his thoughts regarding the Briton's questionable racecraft. You really shouldn't be doing this. This was not a world champion move, Steiner remarked bluntly during the episode.
Steiner also took the opportunity to praise McLaren team principal Andrea Stella for his stellar handling of the internal friction. He noted that the leadership approach successfully made the driver realize the stupidity of the incident without relying on political excuses.
