George Russell has finally addressed the claims made by former Red Bull Racing boss Christian Horner regarding junior drivers paying to use the Milton Keynes simulator facility years ago.
Horner had previously stated on a podcast that the Mercedes driver, alongside Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, used personal funds to access their simulator equipment when they were rising through the junior categories, noting their impressive pace compared to the team's own junior roster at the time.
Speaking to the media ahead of the United States Grand Prix weekend at the Circuit of the Americas, the British driver provided direct context to the events dating back to 2013, emphasizing the technological landscape of that era.

He explained that simulators were simply not widely available to junior teams back then, making the opportunity to drive a Formula Renault setup crucial for testing and race preparation. According to him, the arrangement was strictly about getting necessary seat time when no other teams offered such infrastructure.
The resurfacing of these junior-category anecdotes highlights the fascinating paths modern F1 stars took to reach the pinnacle of motorsport, capturing intense paddock attention as the season heads into a demanding triple-header phase.
