Fabio Di Giannantonio stole the spotlight under the Lusail floodlights by setting an unprecedented lap record during a dramatic Practice session. The Italian rider unleashed a sensational 1:50.406 lap time, eclipsing the previous all-time benchmark and edging out his closest rivals to secure the psychological advantage heading into the crucial qualifying phases.
The stellar performance allowed Di Giannantonio to hold off championship leader Marc Marquez, who finished the session in second place. Marquez faced anxious moments in the garage after suffering a broken chain on his primary machine midway through the session, forcing the Spaniard to swiftly transition to his second bike to salvage a competitive grid position.
Title contender Marco Bezzecchi kept the pressure mounting right to the checkered flag, claiming third place with a remarkably close gap. Meanwhile, Francesco Bagnaia backed up his strong morning pace to lock down fourth, closely followed by Raul Fernandez, further validating the strong aerodynamic and mechanical speed of the Aprilia package at the venue.

Further down the tightly contested top-ten battle for direct Q2 entry, Enea Bastianini emerged as the leading KTM in sixth position, just ahead of Jorge Martin. Despite slashing significant time off his earlier practice output, Martin remained slightly adrift of the ultimate pace in seventh place.
Johann Zarco secured a vital Q2 slot in eighth, with Ai Ogura and Brad Binder rounding out the top ten automatic qualifiers. Conversely, riders like Pedro Acosta experienced a frustrating afternoon, finishing down in fourteenth after earlier technical troubles severely disrupted his track time.
