Classic Formula 1 cars have been spotted roaring around the Port of Nice in recent footage circulating on Instagram, offering the clearest look yet at how Bradley Cooper's upcoming "Ocean's" prequel brings motorsport back to the silver screen. The active working harbour has been completely transformed into an early-1960s European road course, serving as undeniable proof that this cinematic project is taking its motorsport heritage remarkably seriously.
The captured footage begins with a Nissan GT-R camera vehicle equipped with a crane, positioned directly ahead of several vintage open-wheel racers driving parallel to the water. Temporary production structures and protective barriers line both sides of the temporary track layout. The lead car, painted in dark red with a distinct white stripe, features a machine resembling a Brabham F1 car glued tightly to its gearbox, followed closely by a pack of other vintage competitors.
As the racing pack moves along the quay, the camera pans across the harbour infrastructure, capturing the port authority building featuring "Service Plaisance Yachting" signage alongside film production trailers and crew staging areas. The temporary barriers guiding the cars through the harbor area are adorned with period-correct retro branding from iconic sponsors such as Martini, BP, and Shell, creating an immersive historical paddock atmosphere.

The standout sequence occurs at the tight hairpin corner, where the cars squeeze through a narrow bend lined with protective hay bales right at the water's edge, resulting in the red lead car being overtaken after a blue competitor crowds its gearbox. This dedication to practical, on-location action highlights the filmmakers' commitment to delivering authentic racing dynamics rather than relying solely on digital effects.
The project follows the events of the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix and depicts Danny Ocean's parents participating in a high-stakes heist over the race weekend. Bradley Cooper assumed writing, directing, and acting responsibilities following the departure of Lee Isaac Chung in March 2026 due to creative differences over the film's direction. Production has utilized multiple glamorous European backdrops including Paris, Monaco, and Nice, with an official theatrical release date slated for June 25, 2027.
Star and producer Margot Robbie previously noted that before Danny Ocean ever stepped foot in Vegas, two masterminds taught him everything he knows: his parents. The star-studded supporting cast also features acclaimed talents such as Wagner Moura, Monica Barbaro, Vicky Krieps, George MacKay, and Omar Sy, rounding out an anticipated cinematic experience.
