The eighteen-lap intermediate class encounter at the Lusail International Circuit delivered instant drama the moment the starting lights went out. Collin Veijer, starting from a promising fourth position on the grid, misjudged the speed of Celestino Vietti into the opening corner, making contact with the Italian rider and crashing out of contention just hundreds of meters into the race.
Following the early chaos, pole-sitter Alex Escrig immediately seized the initiative at the front. The Spanish rider controlled proceedings for a substantial portion of the race, while Daniel Munoz launched an impressive charge through the field from eleventh on the grid. Meanwhile, Daniel Holgado and David Alonso quickly forced their way into the leading group.
As the race progressed, Holgado displayed superior tyre management compared to his rivals, keeping his machine remarkably stable. With four laps remaining until the finish, Holgado executed a decisive overtake on Escrig to seize the lead. The Aspar Team rider then comfortably extended his margin at the front to seal a stellar victory under the floodlights.

Behind the race winner, a breathtaking battle unfolded for the remaining podium steps. Ivan Ortola managed to snatch second place from Escrig right at the finish line by a razor-thin margin of just 0.020 seconds, while Manuel Gonzalez crossed the line in sixth. Gonzalez capitalized on a mechanical failure that sidelined his primary title rival, Izan Guevara, successfully extending his championship lead to 13.5 points.
Misfortune struck the Dutch contingent further down the order as Zonta van den Goorbergh also failed to reach the chequered flag. The Momoven Idrofoglia RW Racing Team rider crashed out in the final corner with six laps to go following an aggressive move from Deniz Oncu. However, Belgian rider Barry Baltus salvaged a single world championship point in fifteenth, while Ayumu Sasaki added two more points for the Dutch squad by finishing fourteenth.
