Brad Tremain has returned to Erebus Motorsport as team principal, bringing a fresh perspective after two seasons in IndyCar with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing. The New Zealander admits his time in America opened his eyes to the importance of managing people effectively.

"Being in America, I've seen a different side of motorsport with big teams and big budgets and I've seen where their resources could be used more effectively," Tremain said. "In the past, I focused more on the cars and working on the cars, whereas this time around I'm going to put more of my focus on the people running them."

Tremain's main focus for the remainder of the season is improving car speed and reliability, getting the crew together, and lifting morale. He replaces Barry Ryan, who previously served as Erebus CEO, and will lead a team currently in a rebuilding phase with young drivers Cooper Murray and Jobe Stewart.

Ryan welcomed Tremain's return warmly. "Brad is one of the most passionate racers I know. He has all the skills needed to run a race team, with mechanical, engineering and management experience gained largely during his eight years with Erebus," Ryan said. "I know the skills he has learned during his recent time in IndyCar racing will make him an even bigger asset to Erebus."

Tremain had no hesitation in rejoining the Melbourne-based squad. "Erebus is my home," he said. "Baz is a really good mate of mine and I want to go racing with him and the rest of the crew again. And I just love Supercars."

For the upcoming races, Erebus will field Lochie Dalton and Jarrod Hughes as co-drivers for Murray and Stewart respectively at the AirTouch 500 at The Bend and the Repco Bathurst 1000. With his new experience, Tremain is expected to help Erebus bounce back from their struggles.
