Gabriel Gomez finishing 14th in the Formula Regional European Championship standings hardly looks like a traditional springboard to the next level, yet the championship points table fails to tell the full story. Backed now by Lando Norris and Rene Rosin for an upcoming graduation to FIA Formula 3, the young driver's campaign was defined by flashes of brilliance hampered by unpredictable consistency and late-season budget hurdles.
After topping the post-season FREC test at Monza with ART Grand Prix in late 2025, a glowing future seemed guaranteed until financial realities threatened to sideline him entirely. Salvation arrived late in March when Rodin Motorsport handed him a lifeline for their championship debut, allowing Gabriel Gomez to immediately make waves by topping times at Paul Ricard and securing rookie honours during the opening weekend at the Red Bull Ring.
However, that early promise proved difficult to sustain as the new outfit battled the inevitable growing pains of a maiden campaign. Speaking to Formula Scout, Gabriel Gomez reflected on the unpredictable nature of their developmental struggles throughout the year.

"It was not the season that we were expecting, but on the other hand, in January I wasn’t even expecting to race at all this year, so I’m happy to be here," he explained. He highlighted that while circuits like Monza and Paul Ricard saw him fighting directly for wins and podiums, identifying the root cause of their sudden performance drops remained the biggest hurdle of the championship.
Despite the turbulent results, surviving the challenging 2025 season has successfully kept his name on the radar of key decision-makers in international single-seaters. With adequate testing time now secured ahead of his next major career step, the stage is set for Gabriel Gomez to prove his race-winning credentials on a much larger global platform.
