Alex Lowes set the pace during a thrilling third free practice session of the Pirelli Spanish Round at the Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto. The British rider extracted maximum performance from his Bimota machine to edge out his rivals ahead of the crucial Superpole qualifying session.
For the majority of the morning session, Nicolo Bulega held firm at the top of the timesheets with a benchmark lap of 1 minute 37.723 seconds. However, a late charge from Lowes in the closing stages saw the Briton snatch the top spot by a razor-thin margin of just 0.033 seconds, clocking a blistering 1'37.690.
Ducati machinery continued to show immense strength locking out the remaining top positions. Yari Montella secured third place overall, followed closely by Alberto Surra and Lorenzo Baldassarri, ensuring four Ducati riders finished inside the top five of the timing monitors.

Further down the field, Twan Smits put in a solid effort aboard his Yamaha to finish 21st overall. The young rider posted a best lap of 1'39.353, sitting roughly 1.6 seconds adrift of the leading pace while successfully managing to stay ahead of his direct teammate in the garage.
This final practice session served as the ultimate preparation before the afternoon Superpole grid shootout, where the starting order for the opening WorldSBK race of the weekend is officially decided.
