Drama unfolded at the Interlagos circuit during the second free practice session (FP2) of the 2026 F1 Brazilian Grand Prix. F1 rookie Rafael Camara, making his debut for Haas, found himself under steward investigation following a dangerous incident involving Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.

The incident occurred when Camara was dawdling on the racing line during the final sector climb. Simultaneously, Leclerc, who was on a flying lap, was forced to take evasive action towards the outside wall to avoid a high-speed collision. While no car damage was reported, the incident drew immediate frustration from the Monegasque driver and triggered a formal investigation.

After reviewing video evidence, team radio, and in-car footage, the stewards revealed damning details regarding the rookie's conduct. "Car 51 was warned multiple times that car 16 was arriving on a fast lap. Yet, car 51 was weaving and moving well into the racing line," the official report stated.

The stewards deemed the situation "clearly dangerous" and emphasized that Camara should have exercised greater care to avoid impeding the Ferrari driver. While typical penalties for impeding in free practice are often simple warnings, the stewards concluded that in this instance, a formal reprimand was warranted.

For the Haas team, this serves as a baptism of fire for Camara in his maiden weekend. Meanwhile, for Ferrari, this incident adds to their ongoing challenges at Interlagos, following their recent internal crisis meetings post-Mexico. All eyes are now on how the young Brazilian will handle the pressure as the weekend progresses toward qualifying.
