WRC 2026 Standings After Chile: Evans Leads, Toyota Champion

Elfyn Evans continues to lead the 2026 World Rally Championship (WRC) drivers' standings, but his advantage has shrunk dramatically after Oliver Solberg won Rally Chile BioBio 2026. Evans, driving for Toyota Gazoo Racing, sits on 216 points. He has been aided by consistency throughout the season, but the incident in Chile allowed Sami Pajari and Oliver Solberg to close in. Pajari is second with 199 points, 17 adrift, while Solberg is third on 195, just 21 points behind.

Behind the tight drivers' battle, Toyota Gazoo Racing has mathematically secured the 2026 manufacturers' title. The result in Chile confirms Toyota's sixth consecutive manufacturers' crown, taking their total to 10 titles in history. Takamoto Katsuta holds fourth in the standings with 160 points, followed by Adrien Fourmaux of Hyundai Shell Mobis WRT on 149. Sebastien Ogier, competing on a limited schedule, is sixth with 148 points. Four Toyota drivers occupy the top six, underlining their superiority in the Rally1 class.

With two rallies left, attention turns to whether Evans can maintain his lead. Pajari and Solberg are sure to keep the pressure on until the end. The next event will test their mental and strategic strength, especially after the puncture in Chile proved that late-stage drama can reshape the championship.
