The battle for pole position at the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix delivered intense drama as Kimi Antonelli turned the tables on Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar during a fiercely contested Q3 session.
Mercedes showcased supreme pace through the sweeping sections of the opening sector, where Antonelli demonstrated precise aggression. Holding the throttle deeper into Turn 7 and carrying phenomenal speed through Turns 8 and 9, he gained nearly two tenths over the Red Bull.
Trackside engineering director Andrew Shovlin noted that Mercedes made reasonably large changes overnight. Although minor struggles persisted in the low-speed sequence from Turns 12 to 15, Antonelli managed his tyres significantly better than his rivals when it mattered most.

Antonelli expressed confidence in the car's overall balance through medium and high-speed corners. This stunning qualifying performance sets the stage perfectly for his mathematical championship bid over the remainder of the race weekend.
