The Gresini squad has officially announced that Fermin Aldeguer will remain on the sidelines for the upcoming Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang. This decision comes as the young Spaniard continues his recovery from a hand fracture sustained during a punishing campaign this season.
Aldeguer picked up the latest injury in a frustrating incident at Mandalika. The rookie reportedly inflicted the damage when he hit the asphalt in sheer frustration after sliding off the track during the early stages of the Indonesian Grand Prix weekend.
Stepping in once again to fill the vacant seat in the garage, WorldSBK title runner-up Iker Lecuona will continue to fly the flag for the team in Malaysia. Lecuona's ongoing presence provides vital continuity while the regular rider works on regaining full fitness.

Meanwhile, the wider MotoGP paddock continues to monitor the fitness status of several other high-profile names. Riders such as Joan Mir, Luca Marini, and Raul Fernandez are aiming for a timely return to action as the championship heads to the demanding Sepang layout.
The intense battle at the sharp end of the grid underscores the physical toll of modern premier class racing, with teams closely managing rider rehabilitation programmes to maximize their championship standings as the season progresses.
