The LMGT3 qualifying session for the 2026 6 Hours of Barcelona took place under ideal dry conditions with track temperatures hovering around 20 degrees Celsius on Saturday late morning. The schedule was specifically adjusted to allow several drivers to manage their commitments in the Portimao GTWC event without scheduling conflicts.
As customary, the opening phase required bronze-rated drivers to take the wheel with the primary objective of securing a top-ten finish to advance into the Hyperpole shootout. Almost every team managed to book at least one car into the final phase, with the notable exception of Aston Martin which suffered a double elimination as both Vantage AMR entries failed to make the cut.
Meanwhile, Corvette displayed an extraordinary pace by topping the provisional timesheets during the early stages, whereas Ferrari managed to squeeze only their entry into the Hyperpole showdown.

As the Hyperpole phase commenced, silver-rated drivers took over the cockpit and completely shifted the competitive balance on the circuit. Thomas Fleming delivered a stellar performance aboard the McLaren to secure his second pole position of the 2026 season, following his previous pole-sitting feat at the opening round in Imola. This achievement was heavily supported by the crucial groundwork laid by Antares Au in guiding the machine through the initial knockout round.
The premier Ferrari secured third place on the starting grid courtesy of Simon Mann, while slotting right between the pole-sitter and the Italian manufacturer was the Porsche driven by Riccardo Pera. Competitors will now prepare for tomorrow's race start at 12:00, where looming rain forecasts threaten to inject unpredictable chaos into the strategy, superseding the tire degradation variables that heavily influenced today's qualifying battle.
