The Sepang International Circuit witnessed a phenomenal performance as Vega Eda Pratama delivered a brilliant race to finish second at the 2026 Moto3 Malaysian Grand Prix. The young talent showcased remarkable composure and racecraft to secure a well-deserved podium finish in demanding tropical conditions.
Right from the moment the red lights went out, the race unfolded into a high-intensity battle that demanded razor-sharp tactical execution. Maximo Quiles ultimately claimed victory after crossing the finish line with a total race time of 33 minutes 07.634 seconds. However, Pratama maintained immense pressure at the sharp end of the field, holding his nerve and expertly managing slipstreams to fend off relentless pursuers.
Pratama crossed the line just +3.734 seconds behind the race winner, solidifying an exceptional runner-up result. Meanwhile, the fight for the remaining podium spot went down to the wire, with Alvaro Carpe snatching third place with a gap of +4.184 seconds.

The battle for the top five positions proved equally thrilling. Local favorite Hakim Danish narrowly missed the podium in fourth place (+4.410), while David Almansa rounded out the top five with a +4.914 deficit to the leader.
Sepang's challenging layout requires superior rear tire management and precise apex targeting, areas where Pratama excelled throughout the Grand Prix. By executing his team's strategy to near perfection, he successfully defended his position against a fierce chasing group until the checkered flag dropped.
