A critical and unavoidable decision has been forced upon event organizers as threatening weather forecasts loom over this weekend's racing schedule. The highly anticipated SPRY Spring Nationals NDRC Grand Final has officially been postponed to a new date in late November to ensure safety and fair competition.

The marquee national drag racing event will now take place on November 20-22, with organizers making the call early to put fans and competitors first amidst an unfavorable weather outlook at The Bend facility.

The Bend Motorsport Park managing director Sam Shahin admitted the disappointment surrounding the postponement, noting the extensive preparations undertaken by the entire motorsport community for Australia's premier racing venue.

"It is disappointing to have to postpone an event, especially when drag racing fans, racers, and sponsors have made preparations to be part of an incredible national level competition at Australia’s best motorsport facility," said Sam Shahin.

Shahin emphasized that all meticulous efforts poured into preparing the dragway for the SPRY Spring Nationals will ultimately culminate in an unforgettable spectacle when the nation's elite drivers hit the asphalt for four days of world-class racing in November.

NDRC promoter Andy Lopez echoed those sentiments, stating clearly that rescheduling was the absolute only viable course of action available to safeguard the participants and spectators.

"The weather’s not on our side this week, so rescheduling is the only call we could make for our racers and fans," added Andy Lopez, promising that the rescheduled November showdown will serve as a fitting and epic grand final to cap off the championship battles.

In the wake of the postponement, smooth cooperation with Western Australia's Perth Motorplex saw their 'Goldenstates' event shifted to accommodate competitors, ensuring that Doorslammer and Sportsman racers retain full freedom to participate in the grand finale.

Event programming remains entirely unchanged from the original release, featuring heavy-hitting categories including Top Fuel, Nitro Funny Car, the Sportsman Championship, and Group 1. Existing ticket holders are advised that all spectator and competitor passes automatically transition to the November dates without requiring any further action.
