Roser Alenta, mother of Marc Marquez and Alex Marquez, has spoken out. She strongly denies rumors that her family once skipped dinner to buy racing boots for her sons. According to her, that story never happened and does not reflect the family's real struggles.
In recent days, a quote attributed to Roser went viral on social media, claiming the Marquez family went without dinner to afford racing gear. Roser firmly calls that narrative a big lie. “That is absolutely false. We did struggle, but we never sacrificed our basic needs,” she said.
Roser wants to clarify public perception about the hard times her family faced. She admits that together with her husband, Julia Marquez, they made many financial sacrifices so Marc and Alex could continue racing. However, those sacrifices did not mean they lived in extreme deprivation.
Memories of Early Struggles
Roser recalls the early days of her sons' careers with emotion. Days off work were not for holidays but for filling up the caravan and heading to small circuits like Vic, Manresa, or Comarruga. “Our holidays were going to train with them,” she said, describing the family togetherness that became precious moments.
Despite having to save money, Roser insists that her children's basic needs were always met. “Marc and Alex never lacked anything. We always made sure they ate well and had a decent place to live,” she stated. Support from figures like Emilio Alzamora, Monlau School, and RACC later arrived, easing the family's burden.
For Roser, this struggle is part of a proud success story. She hopes the public understands that behind Marc and Alex's success is solid family hard work, not just dramatic and unreasonable sacrifice.
