Dall'Igna Admits This Is The Hardest MotoGP Title Fight

The battle for the MotoGP world championship has reached a boiling point as the paddock arrives for the upcoming race weekend. Ducati Corse General Manager Gigi Dall’Igna and Aprilia Racing CEO Massimo Rivola appeared together in an official press conference at Mandalika to discuss the fierce factory rivalry dominating the current campaign.

With the circuit presenting a fresh technical puzzle for the manufacturers, excitement levels are peaking. The exceptionally close margin at the top of the standings ensures that the grueling Asian leg will play a definitive role in deciding who takes home the ultimate crown.

"Creo que cada campeonato es distinto. Y probablemente este sea el mas dificil de todos porque esta todo muy apretado con nuestros competidores," Dall’Igna stated regarding the intense championship battle, as reported by Motosan.es. He acknowledged that despite securing victories in recent Grands Prix, rival manufacturers are pushing at an extraordinary pace.

Reflecting on the trajectory of the season, the Italian engineer admitted that overcoming the substantial points deficit held by competitors back at Mugello seemed like a massive uphill battle. However, relentless internal drive and the absolute belief in their project kept the championship dream alive.

Dall’Igna specifically highlighted the influential mindset brought by Marc Marquez inside the team structure. "Marc creo que es el mejor en eso. Nos empujo muy fuerte y creyo que podia hacerse con la corona. Y aqui estamos," he praised, emphasizing the champion's unwavering resolve.

Analyzing the strengths of the opposition, Dall’Igna pointed out that Jorge Martin rarely makes major mistakes during the crucial final stretch of a season, which grants the Spaniard a distinct strategic advantage in the points race.

Nevertheless, given Marquez's extensive history in championship showdowns, Dall’Igna remains confident that the experienced rider possesses all the necessary tools to handle the pressure. "Con lo cual, creo que el sabe lo que tiene que hacer," he asserted.

The title fight also carries a personal undertone for Dall’Igna, who previously worked with several riders now representing Aprilia. Rather than harboring bitterness, the veteran engineer views the friendly rivalry with a sense of perspective and respect.

"Si hay alguien que tenga que batirnos, pues creo que lo mejor es que sean amigos quienes lo logren," he reflected on sharing the paddock with familiar faces.

Beyond the championship battle, Dall’Igna addressed broader technical conversations regarding top speeds and corner entry velocities. He emphasized that addressing engine potential and reducing extreme speeds is fundamentally about enhancing safety standards rather than merely altering lap times.
