Red Bull Racing’s wider motorsport position is set to come under focus during the 2026 British Grand Prix weekend, with senior Red Bull figures expected to meet FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem at Silverstone.

According to RacingNews365, citing multiple well-placed sources, the meeting will centre on Red Bull’s involvement across different forms of motor racing. The senior figures understood to be involved are Oliver Mintzlaff and Mark Mateschitz from Red Bull GmbH, the parent company of Red Bull Racing.

Mintzlaff serves as CEO of corporate projects at Red Bull GmbH and oversees the Formula 1 programmes of both Red Bull and Racing Bulls. Mateschitz is the son of late Red Bull co-founder Dietrich Mateschitz and holds a 49 percent share in Red Bull GmbH.

Formula 1 remains Red Bull’s flagship motorsport project, but its interests extend beyond the grand prix paddock. Red Bull previously held the commercial rights to the World Rally Championship as a partner for a decade and continues to have significant involvement in the FIA European Rallycross Championship and other series.

The Silverstone meeting is understood to continue discussions that began in Paris in June. On that occasion, Mintzlaff met Ben Sulayem to discuss Red Bull’s broader motorsport involvement, with those talks now expected to resume during the British Grand Prix weekend.

One issue understood to form part of the wider discussion is ADUO, particularly after Red Bull was reportedly surprised that its power unit was judged to be the strongest in terms of Internal Combustion Engine output. The FIA has not yet officially published the final outcome of the ADUO allocation.

Lewis Hamilton previously revealed after the Monaco Grand Prix that Red Bull Powertrains had been assessed as having the strongest ICE output, while Mercedes HPP, Audi, Ferrari and Honda were believed to have received development tokens. RacingNews365 reports that Red Bull Racing representatives have held several meetings with the FIA technical team in recent weeks over ADUO.

Although that technical topic remains relevant, the main focus of the Silverstone meeting is understood to be Red Bull’s strategic position across multiple motorsport categories. The discussion is significant because Red Bull operates not only as a Formula 1 team but also as a group with commercial, technical and promotional influence across several FIA championships.

No official outcome from the meeting has been announced, meaning the short-term implications for Red Bull’s motorsport projects remain to be seen. However, the planned dialogue with the FIA underlines that Red Bull’s international racing footprint remains a strategic issue during a crucial phase of the 2026 season.
