Miguel Oliveira has confirmed a highly realistic possibility of making his competitive return at the upcoming WorldSBK round at the Misano circuit in mid-June. The Portuguese rider was heavily forced to sit out this weekend's Aragon round and the previous Czech fixture after sustaining a severe shoulder injury and a concussion during a massive crash in the Balaton Park Superpole Race earlier in May. Although initial medical projections suggested a July return at Donington Park, Oliveira has completely defied expectations by demonstrating a remarkably rapid physical recovery process.

Mobility Focus and Elastic Band Rehabilitation

Attending the Aragon paddock alongside his BMW squad, Oliveira detailed that his absolute primary target is regaining sufficient functional strength to wrestle the superbike around Misano. He openly acknowledged that his intense rehabilitation has progressed exceptionally fast, noting that he recently commenced demanding physical exercises utilizing elastic resistance bands to aggressively rebuild mobility in his damaged shoulder joint. While he explicitly stated he is not yet fit enough to handle a 200-plus horsepower machine this weekend, the significant week-by-week progress fuels his strong optimism for a full grid return within a fortnight.

BMW Rider Crisis and Dixon's Potential Withdrawal

The simultaneous absence of both Oliveira and the severely injured Danilo Petrucci has dealt a massive operational blow to the BMW factory operation. The German manufacturer was forced to rapidly deploy Michael van der Mark and Hannes Soomer as emergency replacement riders. During Saturday's opening feature race, van der Mark managed to salvage an eleventh-place finish after launching from seventh on the grid, while Soomer suffered a frustrating early exit following a crash. The WorldSBK grid faces further depletion as British rider Jake Dixon endured immense physical pain throughout Race 1, casting serious doubts over his ability to contest Sunday's closing races.
