Aragon Sprint: Marquez Wins, Bagnaia's Crisis Deepens

Marc Marquez once again showed his teeth at MotorLand Aragon. In Saturday's MotoGP sprint, the Ducati rider finished ahead, beating his brother Alex and Marco Bezzecchi. This win not only extends his dominance at the Aragon circuit but also cuts the championship gap to 33 points from leader Jorge Martin.

A clean and aggressive start into Turn 1 was key. Marquez immediately passed Bezzecchi, who started from pole, then controlled the race from the front. Meanwhile, an impressive Alex Marquez managed to overtake Bezzecchi in the early laps, securing second place for Ducati. Bezzecchi himself had to settle for third, a solid result given his physical condition is not fully recovered.

Behind them, Pedro Acosta finished fourth on the KTM, followed by Jorge Martin, who struggled to find his rhythm. Martin, who was leading the championship, had to watch Marquez close in. With 33 points separating them, the world championship is getting more interesting. Marquez also now leads Bezzecchi by 4 points in the standings, after previously trailing.

Bad news came from the Ducati Lenovo camp. Francesco Bagnaia again disappointed. After positive signs in qualifying, he finished 11th, far from expectations. He could only beat the two Yamahas, which are notably slower. This result puts Bagnaia's championship position further at risk, and criticism is mounting again.

Other notable performances came from Fermin Aldeguer, who finished sixth, and Diogo Moreira in seventh. Both showed significant progress. Johann Zarco also had a solid run to ninth, after being involved in a tight duel with Aldeguer. Unfortunately, the race lost several riders due to crashes, including Fabio Quartararo, who had a technical issue.

With this result, Marquez is clearly the strong favorite to win Sunday's main race. If he can repeat the sprint performance, the world title is getting closer. Meanwhile, Bagnaia must find a solution quickly if he wants to save his season.
