MotoGP Aragon FP2: Marquez Looms, Bagnaia Faces Q1 Fight

Friday morning at MotorLand Aragon isn't fully heated up yet, but the tension in the MotoGP paddock is already rising. Marco Bezzecchi locked in the top spot in the first free practice session, but the two home heroes, Marc Marquez and Alex Marquez, clearly aren't here to just watch at a track they know inside out.

Ahead of FP2, scheduled to start at 10:10 local time, all eyes are on Francesco Bagnaia. The Ducati Lenovo rider could only manage 13th place in Friday's practice, which means he'll have to go through Q1 if he wants to fight for pole. This is clearly not an ideal position for a rider who is in the thick of the championship fight.

This morning's FP2 is more than just a warm-up. It's the last chance for riders to fine-tune their bikes before qualifying kicks off. Teams will be experimenting with tyre options and electronics, while riders look for the perfect rhythm on Aragon's abrasive asphalt.

Bagnaia has a big job on his hands. He needs to be aggressive from the start if he doesn't want to slip further behind. Meanwhile, Bezzecchi will try to keep his momentum, though he knows names like the Marquez brothers always have extra pace on home turf.

With sunny skies forecast, the track is set to be in ideal condition for quick lap times. The question is, who's willing to take more risks? This FP2 session will set the tone for this afternoon's qualifying.
