McLaren CEO Zak Brown has revealed that both Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri were handed a stern warning following their chaotic last-lap collision during the Formula 1 Sprint Race at the Singapore Grand Prix. The dramatic intra-team battle delivered a severe blow to the Woking-based squad as they fight tooth and nail in the fiercely contested Constructors' Championship.
Running comfortably in fourth and fifth positions during the 20-lap prelude to Sunday's main event, Norris began aggressively swarming all over the back of his teammate. The tension boiled over on a partly damp track surface when Norris launched a high-risk overtaking maneuver, sticking his MCL40 up the inside of the Australian driver at Turn 5.
The contact sent the sister car sideways, resulting in both machines spinning and facing backward on the asphalt, narrowly avoiding a heavy secondary impact with Racing Bulls charger Liam Lawson. While Norris managed to recover and salvage a single championship point by finishing eighth, his teammate was forced to retire on the spot with terminal damage.

Speaking candidly to Sky Sports F1 commentator Martin Brundle during the pre-race grid walk ahead of Sunday's Grand Prix—where the duo coincidentally finished fourth and fifth once again—Brown admitted that internal discussions were far from friendly.
"Oh yeah, that was a 'don't do that again.' And we didn't say 'please.' That's an order," Brown firmly stated. The avoidable accident cost the team eight crucial world championship points at a stage of the season where pressure from rival constructors is reaching a boiling point.
