The second Moto3 free practice session at the Lusail International Circuit delivered high drama as Maximo Quiles secured the fastest lap time. Under scorching track temperatures reaching 44 degrees Celsius, the young Spanish talent immediately demonstrated superior pace that proved difficult for his closest rivals to match throughout the Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Qatar weekend.
The standout rider for CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team clocked an impressive time of 2 minutes 03.286 seconds. This lap time underscored his exceptional rhythm across the desert layout, although he had to contend with significant technical setbacks inside his garage.
Despite finishing at the top of the timesheets, his run was far from smooth. Halfway through the session, the Aspar rider suffered a heavy crash at turn 7, marking his second fall of the race weekend. The incident inflicted substantial damage to his KTM machine, though he walked away uninjured.

Second position on the timesheets went to David Almansa, who capitalized on late improvements to finish 0.243 seconds adrift. Meanwhile, Hakim Danish maintained strong momentum to secure the third fastest time of the morning.
The session was further punctuated by a violent highsider crash involving Ruche Moodley at turn 14. The entire paddock now shifts full attention toward the crucial qualifying sessions to determine the starting grid for Sunday's race.
