Max Verstappen hopes next season's Formula 1 calendar will avoid clashing with the 24 Hours of Spa, allowing him to fulfil his ambition of competing in the iconic endurance event.
This weekend, Verstappen Racing is competing in the Spa 24 Hours with a Mercedes GT3 driven by Jules Gounon, Dani Juncadella and Chris Lulham. The trio will start from fourth on the grid while Verstappen remains committed to his Formula 1 duties at the Austrian Grand Prix.
"I'll try to watch as much as I can. The car is, of course, racing with the drivers, so I am very much involved."

The GT World Challenge calendar for next season once again places the Spa 24 Hours in late June, creating the possibility of another clash with Formula 1. Verstappen revealed that he has already expressed his wish for the schedules to be separated.
"Of course, I wish that I could race in Spa as well. I told them already for next year it would be ideal that they can schedule it outside of a Formula 1 weekend, let's see."
"Spa is an amazing track, a 24-hour race with only GT cars is something very special."
Verstappen has already gained endurance racing experience through several outings at the Nordschleife, including a 24-hour event earlier this year. Should the calendars align, a Spa 24 Hours appearance could become the next step in expanding his endurance racing programme.
