The Formula 1 race weekend at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace Interlagos delivered another extraordinary chapter of racing brilliance courtesy of Max Verstappen. Forced to start from the back of the grid following a power unit change, the four-time world champion put on a masterclass in mixed wet-and-dry conditions to charge through the field and secure a remarkable runner-up finish.
This latest heroic drive continues a stunning three-year trend for the Dutch driver at Interlagos. Two years ago, he famously triumphed from 17th on the grid, and last season he fought through from the pit lane to finish on the podium. Driving the Red Bull Racing machine, the reigning champion once again showcased his unmatched racecraft and high-level aggression.
Reflecting on the challenging Grand Prix, Verstappen highlighted the importance of his aggressive charge during the opening laps. He noted that his initial stint on intermediate tyres was exceptionally strong, allowing him to carve his way through traffic and make up significant ground before the first round of strategic pit stops.

However, the race was not without its hurdles. Verstappen reported that the car felt completely different and suffered from a very strange balance after switching compounds, which ultimately prevented him from mounting a serious challenge against race leader Lando Norris in the closing stages of the grand prix.
Crossing the finish line 14 seconds behind the winner as rain returned to pelt the circuit, Verstappen ultimately acknowledged the magnitude of his achievement. Starting from 21st on the grid and fighting all the way back to finish on the second step of the podium stands as another defining moment in his storied career.
