Bezzecchi’s dominant start to the season has positioned him at the centre of the title fight, with consistent victories and race-leading performances establishing him as the reference point on the grid. Recognition from a multiple world champion such as Marquez reinforces that status, but also elevates expectations and competitive pressure heading into the European phase.

“First of all, I’m happy to hear that from him. It’s always a nice compliment,” Bezzecchi said.

“But in the end, it feels like a new beginning. We had quite a long break, everyone has worked hard, and we will see how things go.”

The Italian explained that the recent break in the calendar was used to balance physical preparation with recovery, including time away from racing activities. This approach is part of a broader effort to maintain performance consistency over an increasingly demanding schedule.

“I trained well, even if a bit differently than usual. I also had time to stay at home with my family and friends.”

“It’s a track I like, and I’ve been fast there in the past.”

Despite the RS-GP appearing highly competitive externally, Bezzecchi underlined that continuous improvement remains essential, both in terms of rider execution and technical development.

“It’s impossible to judge from the outside. There is always room for improvement, both in my riding style and on the bike.”

“More than anything, I need to improve, but the bike can also be better.”
