The battle for supremacy intensified at the Lusail International Circuit as Marco Bezzecchi delivered a stunning performance to secure a crucial pole position during qualifying for the Qatar Grand Prix. The Italian rider did not just top the timesheets, but he also shattered the lap record with an exceptional time of 1m50.028s aboard his Aprilia machine. This achievement marks his fifth pole position of the season and sends a strong warning shot to his rivals at the sharp end of the grid.

Meanwhile, Marc Marquez arrived at the Qatar weekend facing his first championship match point, ultimately having to settle for second place on the factory Ducati. The eight-time world champion initially set the pace in Q2 with a record-breaking lap, but he had no answer for Bezzecchi's blistering final effort. The psychological pressure in the paddock remains palpable as Marquez needs a massive points haul this weekend to secure his eighth world crown.

Completing the front row is Fabio Di Giannantonio, who put in a stellar run to claim third place for the VR46 Ducati squad. On the other hand, title contender Jorge Martin suffered a difficult session, struggling to an 11th-place finish after failing to extract maximum performance from his Aprilia and encountering traffic issues during his final flying lap in Q2.

Track conditions were briefly disrupted by yellow flags following an early crash by Brad Binder at Turn 1, forcing title contenders and front-runners to recalibrate their strategies on their second runs. Bezzecchi demonstrated remarkable composure under intense pressure, squeezing every ounce of grip from his Aprilia to cement the pole position in dramatic fashion.

The top six was rounded out by Raul Fernandez in fourth, Francesco Bagnaia in fifth, and Ai Ogura taking sixth on the second Trackhouse Aprilia. With high stakes and fierce rivalries on track, tonight's sprint and tomorrow's main race under the Lusail floodlights promise an unforgettable spectacle of motorcycle racing.
