Liam Lawson insists there is no reason why Racing Bulls’ strong form cannot continue after finishing sixth at the British GP 2026 at Silverstone.
The New Zealander finished ahead of team-mate Arvid Lindblad, who took seventh. The result marked Lawson’s fifth consecutive points finish and strengthened Racing Bulls’ momentum as the season moves towards the summer break.
Racing Bulls also reduced its deficit to Alpine in the constructors’ standings. A gap that stood at 13 points at the start of the weekend is now just one point in the fight for fifth, after Franco Colapinto and Pierre Gasly finished ninth and tenth for Team Enstone.

Lawson admitted his start was not ideal, but he was able to make the most of the opening lap at Silverstone. He said the energy deployment in the early phase allowed drivers to gain positions before the Racing Bulls car showed its main strength in the second half of the stint.
“It's been a good day,” Lawson told Sky Sports F1. “We had not a very good start, but a really good first lap here, with the way the energy is.”
“Even on the first lap, you can make up quite a few positions.”
“And then the car was just really good, especially in the second half of the stint for us; it really came alive, so pretty happy.”
Lawson now has 39 points this season, just three behind Gasly in ninth. Four of his five consecutive points finishes have been inside the top eight, underlining the consistency gained since Racing Bulls introduced a major development package in Montreal.
“The big test was going to Barcelona and testing the high-speed balance, because we hadn't had that from when we brought this big upgrade to Canada, and it's been really, really good,” he explained.
“It's just getting better every weekend. Things are very strong. Obviously, some tough tracks coming up, but there's no reason why it shouldn't be strong there as well.”
Lawson’s comments place Racing Bulls in an increasingly competitive position against Alpine. With its upgrade now delivering consistent results, the next phase of the season will test whether the Silverstone pace can be maintained across different circuit profiles.
