Lando Norris to Learn Fate of LN4 Fusion F2 Team Bid Within Weeks

Lando Norris is set to discover within weeks whether his newly established LN4 Fusion team has successfully secured a coveted place on the 2027 Formula 2 grid. The high-stakes selection process is currently reaching its critical final stages in the motorsport paddock.

F2 Chief Executive Bruno Michel stated that the championship is now in the final phase of choosing its participating squads for the upcoming three-year operational cycle. A definitive verdict regarding the grid allocation is expected in roughly a month, arriving just before the Formula 1 season concludes in Qatar and Abu Dhabi in early December.

Entries across both F2 and F3 championships are systematically awarded on rolling three-year cycles. Norris previously entered the F3 grid mid-cycle by purchasing the assets of the existing AIX team, and he has already locked in his driver lineup ahead of the upcoming 2027 campaign.

The British racing star launched LN4 Fusion back in early September alongside the LN4 Legacy Programme. This specialized initiative aims to discover promising young racing drivers and provide them with the robust backing that Norris himself experienced on his ascent through the junior categories.

Beyond his aspirations in the primary feeder series, the team has already confirmed official entries in Italian F4, the Formula Regional European Championship, and F3, while actively pursuing a spot in the British F4 championship as well.

Bruno Michel publicly praised Norris for reinvesting his success back into the developmental ladder that shaped his own illustrious professional career. "Lando has already entered into Formula 3 by buying the assets of AIX, and for us it's very positive to have someone like Lando coming back into the system," Michel told the media.

Michel continued by emphasizing his appreciation for elite competitors who dedicate resources to grassroots development. "I'm always very grateful to the drivers who are always trying to give back a bit of what they've been earning because of what happened to their career, and it's a very strong thing for Lando, and I think he's also enjoying it very much," he added.

Highlighting the broader impact of the project, the F2 boss expressed confidence in the management approach brought by the professional racer. "He wants to work with young drivers as well. He wants to help them as he's been helped in the past, and that's fantastic for us. On top of that, I'm sure he'll have a good approach to how to run the team," Michel concluded.
