Lando Norris has once again made his stance clear regarding this season's Formula 1 title fight. After securing his second consecutive victory at the Dutch Grand Prix, the McLaren driver is choosing to stay focused on one race at a time, despite emerging as one of the strongest contenders.
The win at Zandvoort leaves Norris 83 points behind championship leader Kimi Antonelli. That gap is still significant, but with Norris' current form—boosted by McLaren's major aerodynamic upgrade package—many are starting to see a realistic path to a second title. Last year, he narrowly missed out on overtaking Max Verstappen, who had been more than 100 points behind at one stage, and history could repeat itself.
Norris, however, refuses to get carried away. "It sounds boring, but one race at a time," he said. "I know a lot of people say it now, but it's the truth of it. There's no point thinking that far ahead. I need to concentrate now on having a nice little break."

He also stressed that two perfect weekends do not mean everything is solved. "I think there are still plenty of things we can do better, and we need to do better if we want to fight for a Championship," he added. He praised his team for delivering two consecutive wins, but he is aware the season is still long.
The victory at Zandvoort was not straightforward. Norris started from pole, lost position after a red flag restart, but managed to reclaim the lead from Antonelli thanks to brilliant tyre management. The decision not to pit during a late virtual safety car put him under pressure, but he maintained his pace and cruised to the line.
"A good race, well fought," he said. "Probably one of my better wins. We had to fight for it well, but the pace was very strong. I managed things incredibly well today. So I'm over the moon; very, very happy, and it's nice to win the final race here in Zandvoort."
With this victory, Norris is proving to be a serious contender in the second half of the season. Whether he can close the 83-point gap to Antonelli remains to be seen, but Norris seems ready for the challenge with a cool head.
