Lando Norris will start Sunday's Formula 1 Brazilian Grand Prix from pole position after mastering a thrilling and treacherous wet qualifying session at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace in Interlagos. The McLaren driver delivered a stellar performance in changing conditions to conquer the standing water.
Following a lengthy red flag due to heavy downpours, the final Q3 shootout saw Norris extract maximum pace on intermediate tyres, stopping the clock at 1m27.470s. That lap was good enough to edge out George Russell by two tenths of a second, though the Mercedes driver faces a grid penalty for power unit changes.
With Russell's subsequent demotion and Charles Leclerc carrying a 10-place engine penalty for Ferrari, the starting grid sees a major shake-up. Liam Lawson capitalized brilliantly to move up the order, while Nico Hulkenberg starred for Audi by taking a strong starting slot in the top six.

Meanwhile, newly crowned champion Kimi Antonelli secured third in qualifying, with veterans like Fernando Alonso and Alex Albon rounding out the top tier. With title contenders like Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton forced to start from the back due to engine penalties, Sunday's main race promises relentless action.
