The qualifying session at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace delivered high-intensity drama under torrential downpours, testing the ultimate limits of the world's elite drivers. Amidst heavy rainfall and a lengthy red-flag interruption, Lando Norris masterfully clinched his fourth pole position of the season with a brilliant display of car control and unwavering focus.

Action was halted just two minutes into the session as worsening weather flooded the iconic Brazilian circuit, forcing drivers and teams to wait in the garage for over an hour. Once the track reopened, the field initially tip-toed out on full wet-weather tires while trying to find a sliver of grip on the treacherous asphalt.

As Q2 drew to a close, a brief window allowed the field to switch over to intermediate tires. The McLaren star safely navigated through to the pole-position shootout with the ninth-fastest time. With looming dark clouds promising an even heavier downpour, every title contender knew they would likely get only one final flying lap to secure their starting spot.

Reflecting on his stellar performance after securing the top spot, the British driver expressed immense relief. "It has been a long day, and obviously a great qualifying session. Securing pole here for the second year in a row is super, and although the conditions are entirely different from last year, I am overjoyed," he stated.

"It was not easy, especially knowing that heavier rain was approaching fast. It was all about getting a couple of clean laps in early without making any mistakes, and that is exactly what we managed to achieve," he concluded, praising the team's precise operational execution throughout the afternoon.
