MotoGP, Sportrik Media - Jorge Martin delivered a commanding performance to win the 2026 French MotoGP Sprint Race at Le Mans on Saturday (9 May 2026), giving Aprilia Racing a crucial victory over its Ducati rivals.
Martin controlled the race from the opening laps and maintained a strong pace throughout the sprint distance to secure an important win in the early stages of the 2026 MotoGP championship fight.
Francesco Bagnaia of the Ducati Lenovo Team finished second after failing to close the gap to Martin during the final laps, while championship leader Marco Bezzecchi completed the podium in third position for Aprilia.

Pedro Acosta secured fourth place for Red Bull KTM, ahead of home favourite Fabio Quartararo, who completed the top five for Monster Yamaha.
The sprint race featured several intense midfield battles, with Joan Mir finishing sixth for Honda, while rookie Ai Ogura once again impressed in seventh position for Trackhouse Aprilia.
Meanwhile, reigning world champion Marc Marquez suffered another difficult result after crashing out while fighting near the front group aboard the Ducati.
The sprint victory provides a major confidence boost for Martin and Aprilia heading into Sunday’s main Grand Prix, especially after the manufacturer showed increasingly competitive pace throughout the Le Mans weekend.
