MotoGP, Sportrik Media - Alex Marquez of Gresini Racing delivered a commanding performance in Friday practice at the 2026 Spanish MotoGP in Jerez, securing a direct place in Q2 qualifying.
The Spaniard’s pace marked a strong response after an inconsistent start to the season, while also highlighting improved competitiveness from Ducati at this circuit, particularly through its satellite operations. Fabio Di Giannantonio had earlier led FP1, reinforcing Ducati’s presence at the front.
Championship leader Marco Bezzecchi placed third for Aprilia Racing, with all four Aprilia machines progressing into Q2. Marc Marquez finished fourth for Ducati Lenovo Team, while Francesco Bagnaia recovered from an early crash to secure sixth and advance directly.

One of the key outcomes from the session was the exclusion of Pedro Acosta from the top ten, forcing him into Q1 alongside several high-profile names.
