Jason Plato has finally broken his silence after his sudden departure from Plato Racing, the team he founded back in July 2025. The exit came just days after the squad entered administration, and hot on the heels of their maiden British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) victory at Knockhill.
In his first public statement, Jason Plato admitted he was left "stunned and deeply unsettled" after being removed from his roles as CEO, Director, and Team Principal without warning or explanation. The timing couldn't have been more brutal—the team had just celebrated a stunning 1-2 finish with Adam Morgan and Dan Rowbottom.
Despite being ousted, Plato insists his support for the team remains absolute. He wished the drivers and personnel well for the upcoming Donington Park weekend, though he won't be there in person.

The outfit, now rebranded as CPRL, will continue racing for the rest of the 2026 season thanks to backing from Cataclean and TOCA. Administrators Arafino Advisory Ltd are still hoping to secure a quick sale, with Cataclean funding the operation in the meantime.
At Donington Park, CPRL showed they're still a force to be reckoned with by locking out the front row for Race 1. The pair of Mercedes A35 Saloons were untouchable in the Race to Pole session, repeating their dominant display from the previous round.
Plato's departure leaves a bittersweet taste, but the show goes on. BTCC fans will be watching closely to see if CPRL can keep their momentum without their founder at the helm.
