Isack Hadjar described the British Grand Prix as a “waste of a race” despite finishing fifth for Red Bull.
The Silverstone result marked Hadjar's fifth consecutive points finish, with all of those results coming inside the top six. However, the outcome still left him frustrated after he felt a stronger result was possible before a sudden loss of pace.
Hadjar had voiced frustration over his poor start in Saturday's sprint race, but he corrected that issue for the grand prix. A clean launch kept him in a competitive position, although he was soon overtaken by team-mate Max Verstappen.

“Just a very good start this time, very good,” Hadjar told media including RacingNews365.
“Just the pace in the first three laps, very nice. I was kind of kind with Max. But it's good to follow him, which I was doing really well.”
The main problem emerged when Hadjar suddenly suffered a major pace drop. He initially suspected the issue was related to tyre management, but switching to a new set of hard tyres did not immediately restore the car's performance.
“And then suddenly a huge drop off of pace,” Hadjar said.
“[I thought] ‘OK, maybe it’s something wrong I did in terms of tyre management.’ I went on the hard, new tyres [and I had] no pace. I was very confused.”
Hadjar was later told the car was missing load. Once Red Bull changed the front wing during a pit stop, his pace improved sharply, with Hadjar estimating that he gained almost two seconds straight away.
“I was told we were missing load on the car. And once they changed the front wing, went back [out] again. I nearly gained two seconds straight away. A waste of a race, really.”
Although fifth place extended Hadjar's strong points-scoring run, the load issue and front wing change made the British Grand Prix an important area of review for Hadjar and Red Bull before the next race.
