A golden opportunity awaits Harri Jones to wrap up the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia title early this weekend on the streets of Surfers Paradise. The McElrea Racing star arrives at the penultimate round holding a commanding lead at the top of the championship standings.
Jones has enjoyed a near-flawless 2026 campaign, racking up seven race victories and finishing no lower than third in every single appearance so far. This unmatched level of consistency gives him a massive 235-point buffer over David Russell, who sits second in the title race.
With the final two rounds operating under a sprint format offering a maximum of 360 points remaining, Jones only needs to leave the Gold Coast with a 180-point advantage to secure his third championship crown with a round to spare. He also heads into the weekend carrying strong momentum from a standout Supercars Enduro Cup campaign with Matt Stone Racing, highlighted by two top-ten finishes and a fourth-place result at Bathurst.

In contrast, the Pro-Am battle tells a much tighter story with championship margins cut razor-thin. Matthew Belford holds a narrow 47-point lead over Matt Slavin, with Jacque Jarjo lurking just two points further back in third place, setting the stage for a fiercely contested class showdown.
Elsewhere, Wall Racing youngster Jake Santalucia makes a welcome return to the grid after a heavy crash derailed his Bathurst outing. According to Speedcafe, Santalucia topped qualifying before crashing at The Esses, forcing his team to switch to a replacement chassis for this weekend's action on the Gold Coast.
