Hakim Danish delivered an impressive performance to lead Moto3 Practice at the 2026 Catalan Grand Prix after setting a best lap of 1m46.943s for AEON Credit MT Helmets MSI at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
The Malaysian rider finished just 0.099 seconds ahead of Brian Uriarte from Red Bull KTM Ajo, while Adrian Fernandez secured third position for Leopard Racing, 0.203 seconds off the pace.
The Practice session proved significantly more competitive than FP1 as riders immediately focused on securing direct progression into Q2. Improving track grip conditions around Barcelona resulted in major lap time improvements during the final 10 minutes.

Danish remained consistent throughout the session and maximised slipstream opportunities in the final sector to hold onto top position. Both KTM and Honda packages appeared highly competitive through Catalunya’s long-radius corners and acceleration zones.
David Almansa finished fourth for Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP, followed by Valentin Perrone in fifth with Red Bull KTM Tech3.
Indonesian rider Veda Pratama completed the session in 19th position for Honda Team Asia, finishing 1.193 seconds behind Danish.
Veda showed improved rhythm during the middle phase of the session and briefly closed in on the midfield group before struggling to maintain position once most riders switched to their final time-attack runs on fresh tyres.
There still appeared to be work required in slow-corner acceleration and stability during rapid direction changes, particularly through Barcelona’s final sector which remains critical for Moto3 lap time performance.
Team-mate Zen Mitani ended the session in 23rd position. Meanwhile, leading contenders including Matteo Bertelle, Maximo Quiles, and David Munoz remained firmly inside the leading qualifying battle.
The Practice results highlighted how competitive the 2026 Catalunya Moto3 field is expected to be, with just over one second covering the top 20 riders around the slipstream-sensitive Barcelona circuit.
