Almansa Takes Dramatic Moto3 Win at Silverstone, Carpe P2

David Almansa delivered a masterclass in tyre management to claim a stunning victory in the Moto3 race at Silverstone on Sunday. The Spaniard held off a late charge from Alvaro Carpe and Valentin Perrone in a race that was decided only in the final laps.

From pole, Almansa made a lightning start and controlled the opening exchanges. But the battle was intense from the off, with Adrian Fernandez and Joel Esteban joining the scrap. The CIP Green Power duo initially impressed before chaos unfolded.

A collision between Adrian Cruces and Hakim Danish at the final chicane ended both their races, while Casey O'Gorman was penalised. Scott Ogden's home race ended in heartbreak when he crashed on lap seven.

Almansa tried to break away mid-race, but the lead group reformed. With three laps to go, five riders were separated by nothing. The drama peaked when Brian Uriarte crashed from third, and Carpe lost ground after contact with Uriarte.

Keeping his cool, Almansa crossed the line 0.701s clear of Carpe, with Perrone completing the podium. The result strengthens Almansa's title bid, while the championship fight intensifies.
