Guevara Closes Gap in Moto2 Standings After Austrian GP

Izan Guevara's victory at the 2026 Austrian Moto2 wasn't just a trophy. The BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 rider significantly cut the gap to championship leader Manuel Gonzalez to 35.5 points. Starting from fifth, Guevara immediately charged, seizing the lead on lap two and never looking back.

Third place went to David Alonso of CFMOTO Inde Team. Starting sixth, Alonso cleverly capitalised on Ivan Ortola's mistake on lap 15. This result solidifies his fourth place with 155 points, right behind Ortola's 168.5. Alonso, a rising rookie, is ready to spring a surprise.

Bad luck struck Senna Agius. He failed to finish and added no points. Agius now sits fifth with 149 points, followed by Daniel Holgado in sixth with 146. The gap to the podium in the standings remains wide open.
