The action at the Sepang International Circuit delivered high drama as David Alonso secured his second victory of the season following a masterclass performance in hot and humid conditions. The Colombian rider displayed incredible resilience, overcoming a pre-race nosebleed on the starting grid before carving his way through the field after starting fourth from a Q1 appearance.

Pole-sitter Daniel Holgado initially grabbed the holeshot and controlled the early stages of the race. However, Alonso made his decisive move on lap seven, executing a clean overtake on his Aspar teammate to take charge at the front. Despite rising track temperatures and fading tyre grip, Alonso had to survive a heart-stopping moment on lap 15, pulling off a miraculous save from a violent highside before refocusing to pull away and win by 1.932 seconds.

Holgado brought his machine home in a lonely second place to seal a dominant 1-2 finish for the Aspar squad, while rookie Angel Piqueras rounded out the podium in third. The young charger delivered a stellar performance to claim his maiden intermediate class podium after holding firm from his front-row grid slot.

In the championship battle, points leader Manuel Gonzalez put in a heroic effort despite nursing a right ankle injury sustained earlier in the weekend. Starting from ninth on the grid, Gonzalez fought through the pain barrier to salvage a valuable fifth-place finish, limiting the damage to his championship lead as the season enters its final decisive rounds.
