Guenther Steiner has ruled out the possibility of Brad Binder joining Tech3 for the 2027 MotoGP season because he wants to rebuild the team with a fresh structure and atmosphere.

Binder is already confirmed to be leaving Red Bull KTM Factory Racing next season after the manufacturer selected Alex Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio for the start of MotoGP’s 850cc regulations.

A move to Red Bull KTM Tech3 had previously appeared possible. Binder’s former crew chief, Andres Madrid, joined the team to work with Enea Bastianini, while KTM has not activated the contract options held on Bastianini and Maverick Vinales.

However, Steiner believes bringing Binder across from the factory team would not fit Tech3’s new direction. He wants to avoid carrying too much of the past into 2027 and instead begin the season with a different approach.

“There is a long history between KTM and Binder. Sometimes you need to start fresh and not carry too much over,” Steiner said at the German Grand Prix.

Steiner stressed that his objective is to create a happy team capable of moving forward without “old baggage”. He believes people who have been associated with the wider KTM group for too long can remain focused on how things operated previously.

“We do not want any old baggage. We want to start afresh. Sometimes you need a completely fresh start,” he added.

Tech3 has yet to announce either of its riders for MotoGP 2027. Luca Marini, Moto2 championship leader Manuel Gonzalez and Senna Agius have all been linked with the satellite KTM squad.
