The Ferrari Formula 1 paddock was filled with laughter as Frederic Vasseur delivered a witty response regarding the wonderful family news of his star driver. Amidst the intense preparations for the race weekend, the French team principal jokingly ruled out becoming the godfather to Charles Leclerc's newborn daughter.
The arrival of the Monegasque driver's first child, named Bianca, with his wife Alexandra on Wednesday quickly became a major talking point in the media room. However, instead of offering a traditional formal statement, the Maranello boss cracked a joke about his already packed family life at home.
"I have four children at home and I don't want to be the godfather of all the children of my drivers," Vasseur replied during Friday's official press conference, bringing smiles to the faces of journalists in attendance.

Behind the lighthearted moment, Vasseur has had plenty on his plate following the opening lap clash between Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton at the previous race in Mexico City. The aggressive wheel-to-wheel battle on Sunday afternoon created plenty of post-race discussions regarding team dynamics and race management.
Addressing the internal rivalry, Vasseur candidly admitted that housing two ultra-competitive drivers under the same roof comes with inevitable hurdles. Yet, he emphasized that it remains a calculated choice he is entirely willing to manage for the sake of performance.
"We have two experienced guys, two competitive guys. There are now four or five races in a row that we are at the front, scoring the highest number of points after Monza and Madrid. Then, for sure, you have a kind of escalation because you all want to win races," Vasseur explained regarding the fierce intra-team competition.
Ferrari currently holds second place in the constructors' standings with 504 points, proving that the aggressive driver pairing strategy continues to deliver strong results on the track despite the occasional Sunday drama.
