Franco Colapinto Issues Stern F1 2026 Warning Over Online Abuse

Alpine driver Franco Colapinto has delivered his strongest statement to date, urging his fan base to put an immediate end to the hateful online abuse that has marred several race weekends in the 2026 Formula 1 season. Following a series of heated grand prix events around the globe, tensions on social media unfortunately boiled over into severe cyber harassment directed at key figures within the motorsport paddock.

Hateful commentary in recent months was notably aimed at FIA stewards, Pierre Gasly alongside his family members, and title contender Lando Norris, among others. This recurring issue forced the team to regularly step in and issue public statements in a concerted effort to combat the growing toxicity spreading across digital platforms during the championship trail.

While the young talent had previously downplayed the situation or deflected blame by pointing out that online vitriol stems from various global fan bases rather than just his home supporters, his stance shifted dramatically. In a heartfelt Spanish-language video shared on his official social media channels, the Argentine star addressed the fanbase directly to demand an urgent behavioral change.

Expressing deep gratitude for the unwavering loyalty and passion shown by his supporters since the very beginning of his journey, the driver emphasized that criticizing colleagues and attacking fellow competitors crosses a definitive line. He stressed that targeting mechanics, engineers, and rival team members does not help his sporting ambitions or his professional trajectory moving forward.

Despite the off-track noise, the driver's immediate professional future remains fully secure after he penned a fresh contract extension with the Enstone-based outfit back in August to secure his seat for the 2027 campaign. On the track, he currently holds 12th position in the 2026 world championship standings, having accumulated a total of 27 points so far.
