Formula 1, Sportrik Media - The battle in the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship has intensified following the Chinese Grand Prix at the Shanghai International Circuit. The second round of the season has already brought notable changes to both the drivers’ and constructors’ standings.
Victory for Andrea Kimi Antonelli with Mercedes has had an immediate impact on the drivers’ championship fight. Meanwhile, the consistent form of team-mate George Russell ensures the contest at the top of the standings remains extremely tight.
Elsewhere, Lewis Hamilton secured valuable points for Ferrari with a podium finish in Shanghai, strengthening the Italian team’s position in the constructors’ battle. Other teams such as Haas and Alpine also capitalised on opportunities to add points during the race weekend.

However, several teams endured a difficult event. McLaren was unable to start the race due to technical problems affecting both cars, while Red Bull Racing lost crucial points after Max Verstappen retired from the race.
With two rounds of the season now completed, the standings begin to outline the early dynamics of the 2026 championship battle before Formula 1 moves on to the next stage of the calendar.
