Internal tensions within the Red Bull Formula 1 camp have escalated dramatically as Helmut Marko launched a scathing response to the explosive claims made by former team principal Christian Horner in his new autobiography. The release of Horner's memoir titled 'Drive' on October 22, 2025, has brought long-simmering backstage animosities firmly into the public eye, revealing deep divisions within the Milton Keynes organization.
The relationship between the two senior figures has deteriorated significantly following their respective exits from the energy drink giant's racing operation. Horner's book contains multiple bombshell allegations, including accusations blaming Marko for the failures of Red Bull's junior driver development program. Furthermore, Horner—who parted ways with the squad in July 2025 after a 20-year tenure—claimed that Marko actively orchestrated his dismissal and leaked confidential internal data to the media.
The memoir also delves into sensitive personal matters, with Horner stating that Marko failed to reach out following the tragic death of Beverley Allen, the mother of his daughter, who passed away from eye cancer last year. These deeply personal accusations prompted an immediate and furious rebuttal from Marko during an interview with the Austrian publication Kronen Zeitung, where he firmly rejected the narrative presented in the book.

Addressing the contentious claims head-on, Marko dismissed the publication with strong words. "That's a collection of untruths of such a low calibre that I won't address them," Marko stated during the interview. However, the Austrian veteran made it clear that he felt compelled to set the record straight regarding the condolence message, even presenting the digital proof of the sent message directly to the interviewing journalist on his mobile phone.
Beyond the factual disputes over personal messages, Marko heavily criticized the timing chosen for the book's publication. He argued that releasing the memoir on the exact fourth anniversary of the death of Red Bull co-owner Dietrich Mateschitz showed a severe lack of respect and sensitivity toward the legacy of the late billionaire.
