Ferrari has been fined €10,000 after the stewards confirmed that the team breached the tyre return procedure during Friday practice for the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps.

The Maranello-based team had been summoned over an alleged breach of Article 6.4.2 of Formula 1’s sporting regulations. The provision governs the deadline for returning tyres to official supplier Pirelli after an on-track session.

Ferrari was found to have failed to physically return one set of tyres within the required timeframe following FP1. The matter was subsequently referred to the FIA after second practice.

After reviewing the case, the stewards imposed a financial penalty of €5,000 for each driver, bringing Ferrari’s total fine to €10,000.

The stewards considered the amount to be a proportionate and sufficient punishment for the procedural infringement. The decision did not include a grid penalty, points deduction or time penalty for the team or either driver.

Lewis Hamilton completed FP2 in fourth place, while Charles Leclerc finished 11th. Those results were unaffected by the stewards’ verdict.

With the administrative matter resolved through a fine, Ferrari can now focus on the remaining sessions and improving its performance ahead of Belgian Grand Prix qualifying.
